DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Cape Town, Western Cape
Duration: 6 months
Contract Type: Full-time

2U is offering a Human Resources internship whereby candidates will be exposed to the world of EdTech.
This internship allows candidates to enhance their knowledge and skills in their areas of interest, as well as gain real-world experience whilst receiving feedback on how they can improve to reach their fullest potential. The candidates will attend meetings with senior executives, use various training resources, and shadow colleagues during the programme.

About the Human Resources (HR) team: The HR team at the company holds the responsibility of training, hiring, onboarding, administration, and development of all the employees at 2U. The HR department functions as a cohesive unit through learning, organizational structure, recruiting, compensation, benefits, and system report. This department ensures that all the needs of the employees are met which further allows them to enhance their performance. During the programme, the candidate will be assigned to an HR team based on their interests and the team's availability.
 

Key performance areas of the programme:

  • Providing assistance to the HR department with the various functions, such as benefits, compensation, talent acquisition, onboarding, and employee performance
  • Ensuring that data is maintained and secured within the HR systems
  • Provide assistance with the orientation of new employees by ensuring that the necessary paperwork is completed and processed
  • Conducting data analysis when instructed to do so with the aim of developing scalable and consistent HR processes
  • Ensuring that employee personnel files are updated and maintained
  • Collaborating with the various HR departments with the aim to enhance learning and development initiatives
  • Providing tactical and administration support to aid in promoting the success of the HR team

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be currently enrolled/ recently completed a tertiary qualification
  • Must have an interest in communications, human resources, marketing, psychology, information systems, and organizational development (preferred)
  • Must have a key understanding and interest in human resources and employee development
  • Must have excellent knowledge of web applications and basic software
  • Must have excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Must have excellent research skills
  • Must be able to grasp and understand technical documents
  • Must be goal-driven
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Must be flexible, able to multitask, and collaborate with colleagues
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be adaptable
