ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE APPRENTICESHIP:

Westfalia Fruit is one of the top international suppliers of fresh fruit and similar products to international markets. The company grows, sources, ripens, packs and processes avocados across the globe, all year round, as well as supplies a range of other fruits including: apples, mangoes, grapes, blueberries, pomegranates, cherries, passion fruit, citrus and stone fruit.

Westfalia Fruit is part of the Hans Merensky Holdings (HMH) Group, which is hadquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa and was formed 70 years ago.
 

DETAILS ABOUT THE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Tzaneen, Limpopo
Contract term: 36 months

Westfalia Fruit Estates are looking for interested and qualifying applicants to join their 36 month Apprenticeship programme. The following Apprenticeship positions are available:

  • Builder Apprenticeship
  • Boilermaker Apprenticeship
  • Diesel / Motor Mechanic Apprenticeship (2 positions)
  • Electrical Apprenticeship (3 positions)
  • Fitter & Turner Apprenticeship
  • Plumbing Apprenticeship

The programme will allow students to gain industry exposure, suitable training and many learning opportunities.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be residing within the Limpopo province
  • Education requirement: must have completed N3 with Drawings and Trade Theory subjects relevant to the trade you intend to pursue
  • Must be physically fit (in order to conduct work of an artisan in your field of application)
  • Must have good English communication skills – written and verbal
  • Must be unemployed
  • Willing to take part in a 36 month long programme
  • Candidates with disabilities are encouraged to apply
