ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE LEARNERSHIPS:
The Clicks Group is a healthcare and retail group in South Africa, with numerous stores including Clicks Pharmacy, The Body Shop, GNC, Musica and Claires.
The healthcare group boast more than 680 stores throughout Southern Africa and have been listed on the JSE Market for more than 20 years. The group also has more than 400 in-store pharmacies, making it the largest retail pharmacy chain in the country.
DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMMES:
Clicks have learnership positions available for candidates who are passionate about healthcare and delivering quality patient care, and wish to work while studying towards a qualification. Candidates who complete the learnership programme will qualify as a Pharmacist Assistant.
The Clicks Group currently have these learnership positions available:
1) Basic Learnership Programme:
Students will complete the following qualifications: National Certificate: Pharmacy Assistance Learnership Programme (Learner Basic Pharmacist Assistant) and a Further Education and Training Certificate: Pharmacist Assistance (Learner Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant) through the accredited Pharmacy Healthcare Academy.
The programme will include: practical and theoretical components, resulting in a qualification that is registered on the National Qualification Framework (NQF). The Learnership Training Contracts will be conducted at a registered Clicks Pharmacy, under an approved tutor.
Duties and responsibilities: will include providing support to the healthcare team at a Click's Pharmacy, supervised by a registered Pharmacist and within the legal scope of practice as outlined by the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC). Students must attend the essential training interventions and complete competency assessments, as well as submit a Portfolio of Evidence.
Work back agreement: after the learnership programme is complete, students will be required to enter into a work back contract with Clicks - to work as a qualified Pharmacist Assistant for a period of time equal to the duration of learnership.
2) Pharmacist Assistant Learnership Programme:
Students will complete the following qualifications: National Certificate: Pharmacy Assistance Learnership Programme (Learner Basic Pharmacist Assistant) and a Further Education and Training Certificate: Pharmacist Assistance (Learner Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant) through the accredited Pharmacy Healthcare Academy.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
Basic Learnership Programme
- Must have completed Grade 12 with a minimum result of 50% for Mathematics (or 60% in Mathematical Literacy) and 50% for English and a pass mark for Life Science or Physics
- Skills required: customer service orientated, numeracy skills, literacy skills, computer literacy skills, highly accurate, strong attention to detail, sense of integrity, able to work well in a team
- Essential competencies: able to follow instructions and procedures, work well with people, deliver results and meet customer expectations, planning and organising, relating and networking, adhering to principles and values
- Preference will be given to those who: meet Clicks' EE targets per the employment equity plan, meet the furtherance of the National agenda for the development of unemployed youth
Pharmacist Assistant Learnership Programme
- Previous experience: none required
- Previous knowledge: none required
- Education: must have completed Grade 12 with a minimum result of 50% for Mathematics (or 60% in Mathematical Literacy) and 50% for English
- Skills required: customer service orientated, numeracy skills, literacy skills, computer literacy skills, highly accurate, strong attention to detail, sense of integrity, able to work well in a team
- Essential competencies: able to follow instructions and procedures, work well with people, deliver results and meet customer expectations
- Desirable traits: planning and organising, relating and networking, adhering to principles and values
