ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE INTERNSHIP:
The Office of the Pension Funds Adjudicator (OPFA) is a legal entity established in accordance with the terms of the Pension Funds Act, 24 of 1956. The aim of the company and the Act is to eliminate pension fund complaints that have been lodged in a manner that's economical, fair, and expeditious.
DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: Ashlea Gardens, Pretoria, Gauteng
Position: Finance Internship
Salary: Market related
OPFA is looking to place a Graduate in the position of Finance Intern. Students with an Accounting qualification may be eligible to apply.
Key Performance Areas of the Programme:
- Assisting with Audits
- Journals (every month)
- Petty Cash counts (every month)
- Depreciation journals (every month)
- Bank and other reconciliations (every month)
- Prepayment schedule monthly and journals (every month)
- Trial Balance (every month)
- Supporting the finance management team with clerical duties
- Partaking in client meetings, video conferences and phone calls
- Minute taking in finance meetings
- Scanning and Filing payment batches
- Capturing and approving creditors invoices
- Compiling Finance Reports
- Compiling treasury reports
- Compiling Management Accounts
- Assets management
- Logging all correspondence relating to your duties (telephone calls, emails, etc)
- Assisting project team members and management with document preparation and review
- Other relevant request from the CFO
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

- Must have a Accounting Diploma (minimum requirement)
- Must be computer literate and be proficient in Microsoft (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Must have excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Must have excellent listening skills
- Must have good writing skills and be able to explain complex concepts
- Must have knowledge of financial terms
- Must have strong analysis, interpretation and problem-solving skills
- Must be resilient
- Must be self-motivated
- Must have strong organisational and planning skills

- Must be able to work under pressure
- Must have a professional manner at all times
- Must be able to work well in a team
Knowledge and experience working with Pastel Accounting (advantageous but not essential)
Knowledge of PFMA (advantageous but not essential)
