ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE INTERNSHIP:

The Mossel Bay municipally was established in 1852 it became a Municipality and later, merged with other areas as a result of the new municipal dispensation if 2000. The Municipality is located halfway on the coast of Cape Town and Port Elizabeth whilst being bordered by George, Langeberg, and Oudtshoorn. Mossel Bay Municipality's main economic objective is to ensure the promotion of agricultural activities such as fauna and flora( aloes, dairy, cattle, sheep ostriches, timber, sheep, wines, and vegetables), as well as petrochemicals, fishing, light industry, and tourism.

DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Mossel Bay, Western Cape
Contract duration: 12 months
Pay/ Stipend: R7 276.74 per month

Mossel Bay Municipality is offering an internship opportunity for the position of Civil Engineering Intern. The programme is aimed at university graduates looking to gain work experience related to their field of study. During the programme, candidates will be required to perform tasks such as data gathering, supervision, construction monitoring, and verification as well as coordinate work priorities, teams, and workers. The programme will run for 12 months with the possibility of being extended to a maximum of 3 years total.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

Must be a South African Citizen
Must have completed Matric (NSC) with Mathematics as a subject
Must have completed a 3 year National Diploma or Degree qualification in Civil Engineering
Must have a valid Code B drivers Licence
Must be unemployed
Must be fluent in two official languages of the Western Cape
Must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office
Must be eager to work alongside and with labour-intensive construction workers/ teams (LIC/ EPWP)
Must be eager to work on civil construction sites in different weather terrains
Must NOT have previously been employed or participated in another internship
