Golden Arrow Bus Services is the main public transport bus service in Cape Town, providing a number of commuters with effective public transportation around a large portion of the Cape Town metropolitan area. The company was founded in 1861 by Hosken Consolidated Investments Ltd (a South African holding company).

Golden Arrow Bus Services has strong roots in Skills Development. The company's Learning and Assessment Centre is accredited with the Transport Education and Training Authority (TETA).
Golden Arrow Bus Services uses a number of service providers to aid in management and leadership programmes where employees who are delegable also have the opportunity to access further studies.
Golden Arrow Bus Services offer the following programmes: National Certificate in Professional Driving, Professional Driver Skills Program, Automotive Repair and Retain Commercial Learnership, Automotive Maintenance Assistant, and Automotive Workshop Assistant.

The company also holds a very important Corporate Social Investment. The Golden Arrow Foundation (GAF) was founded in 1993 and established with the aim to give back to communities that were served by the company. The Foundation has continued to provide financial support to many community programmes, such as health and welfare, education and early childhood development, and social development.
 

DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Cape Town, Western Cape
Duration: 12 months

Golden Arrow Bus Service is offering a learnership programme aimed at individuals who want to hone their skills, gain knowledge and experience in the transportation and bus service industry.

The main outcome of the programme is to train the candidate to become a highly-skilled bus driver as well as prepare them for a career within the transportation industry.

Candidates will receive: a National Certificate in Professional Driving, a Code C/ED (heavy vehicle) drivers license and a range of work-readiness and self-improvement courses.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must have completed Matric (NSC)
  • Must have passed Matric with an aggregate of 60% or more
  • Must be between the ages of 21 and 35 years old
  • Must reside in Cape Town CBD or the suburb of Atlantis
  • Must have knowledge of Cape Town and its surrounding areas
  • Must have a valid Code 8 or Code 10 Driver's Licence (advantageous)
