ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE INTERNSHIP:

The South African National Space Agency (SANSA) is an entity to the public under the National Department of Science and Innovation (DSI).

SANSA aims to drive and promote the use of space and cooperation in space-related activities. They aim to reach this goal by encouraging research that is directly related to technology and space science as well as to establish new advances in various space engineering programmes. SANSA also supports the establishment of an environment that encourages industrial development in space technologies, and they do this within the guidelines of national government policy.

DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Hermanus, Western Cape
Duration: 12 months contract
Pay/Stipend: between R5 697 and R8 493 per month

The South African National Space Agency is offering an internship programme to unemployed graduates/ postgraduates who will have the opportunity to join their Space Science Directorate and gain experience in the Education, Science, and Technology industries.

During the programme, the candidate will have the opportunity to gain hands-on work experience by coaching, mentoring and exposure to a research environment. This internship is suitable for candidates who have a key interest in research support, research management, and administration as well as a qualification within the Engineering, Technology, and Science fields.

The candidate will be paid according to their level of qualification:

National Diploma (with in-service training completed): R5697 per month
Advanced Diploma/ Bachelors Degree/ Bachelors of Technology: R6404 per month
Post Graduate Diploma/ Honours' Degree/ Bachelors of Technology: R7121 per month
Masters of Technology/ Masters Degree: R8493 per month

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

Must be a South African Citizen or a Permanent Resident of South Africa
Must have completed a National Diploma in one of these fields: Computer Science, Mathematical Science, Physical Science, Science Education, Space Science, or Mathematics (minimum qualification)
Must be 35 years old or younger
Must be hard-working
Must be enthusiastic
