ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE LEARNERSHIP:

Group Five was first established in 1974 and currently has over 8000 employees. The company has a client base that is constantly growing within the country, the African continent, and Europe. Group Five has also developed offices within the USA and Russia, with operating experience in 28 countries.

Group Five operates in a number of sectors, namely resources, energy, infrastructure, and real estate. The company has many capabilities too, in aspects such as investment, construction, project development, operations and maintenance, and the manufacturing and supply of construction products.
 

DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Sunninghill, Gauteng
Duration: 1 year

Group Five is offering a number of learnership opportunities to tertiary students from universities of technology with the aim of aiding them in completing their practical training. These opportunities will consist of on-site in-service training, allowing them to complete their compulsory one-year practical experience.
 

Group Five has been offering these learnerships to both employed and unemployed individuals since 2006. Eighteen disabled learners were selected for this programme, and were able to cover topics such as customer service, information handling, and communication- the programme allows for candidates living with disabilities to become part of the workplace.

Six months of the programme consists of classroom training, whilst the other half covers operational training- this allows candidates to develop their skills and have the necessary knowledge to become a junior manager.
This programme is ideal for candidates who wish to embark on a career in Management.

Group Five are currently offering the following learnerships:

  • Building and Civils (NQF2)
  • Boilermakers (NQF2)
  • Generic Management (NQF3)
  • Safety (NQF3)
  • Business Administration (NQF4) (for those living with disabilities)

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must have completed Matric (NSC)
  • Must be studying at a University of Technology in South Africa
  • Must require in-service training to complete your compulsory practical training
  • Must be interested in a career in Management
  • Must be interested in working in the construction industry
