DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng
Duration: 1 year and 6 months
Allowance: R8 000 per month

Standard Bank is offering a Compliance Learnership as part of their RIM team.
The RIM team aims to deliver first-class customer service to their stakeholders and ensuring that Standard Bank does not experience operational losses, regulatory fines, and reputational damage.

This programmes main aim is to aid graduates in gaining work experience that is valuable. The programme will commence from 1 June 2021 to 30 November 2022.
 

The candidate will engage and be responsible for the following aspects:

  • Gaining an understanding of the Regulatory Instruction Management and MLTU Instructions through the value chain. This is achieved through a receipt from an alert system or internal stakeholders for execution by the team
  • Ensuring that bank exposure and customer behaviour is interpreted, studied, analyzed, understood, validated, investigated, and determined
  • Conducting forensic data searches for the purpose of preparation and presentation of Reports and Information Packs. This is used to perform Legal and Regulatory Instructions that are received from EXCON, SABRIC, Operational Risk, LAS, or a business unit.
  • Extracting source information to perform investigation, surveillance, analysis or restriction processes by understanding Standard Bank's banking source systems
  • Working with data in the company for the purpose of tracing funds, analytics, and submission to regulators
  • Ensuring that queries regarding customer and bank record exaction and information provided, and analytics are resolved
  • Ensuring that SLA prescribed by Regulators are adhered to by meeting all deadlines
  • Ensuring that all standards and policies are followed
  • Ensuring that your own workload is managed and prioritised
  • Ensuring a constant high standard of service and execution by regularly corresponding and communicating in a professional and prompt manner
  • Ensuring that all your work and information provided is detailed, accurate and of high quality
  • Interacting with teams and stakeholders and communicating any ideas or concerns you may have
  • Ensuring that strong relationships are built with team members and internal stakeholders
  • Ensuring that dashboard, information, and statistics are prepared for internal stakeholders

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African Citizen
  • Must have completed an NQF level 5 qualification in one of these fields: Finance and Accounting/ Business Commerce/ Audit/ Legal/ Banking or Risk Management
  • Must have AML/ equivalent certification (advantageous)
  • Must be 18 to 30 years old
  • Must be fluent in English (written and oral)
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must be unemployed
  • Must NOT be studying at another instruction
