ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE INTERNSHIP:

The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) was established to create growth that is equitable for the country's video and film industry. NFVF is an agency of the Department of Arts and Culture and ensures that funding for the production, development, distribution, and marketing of films is provided. NFVF also ensures that future filmmakers are developed and trained via their programmes; the company also commissions research as well as produces industry statistics providing all stakeholders with key insights into the film industry of South Africa.

NFVF's main objectives include:

  • Enhancing the number of Previously Disadvantaged Individual's in the production team as well as the number of South African films being entered into the industry
  • Ensuring that audience access to South African films are increased
  • Enhancing the number of trained professionals in the industry, especially those in areas of scarce skills
  • Actively promote the South African film industry- both locally and globally
  • Ensuring that South Africa's stories, through film as well as social cohesion, is promoted and expressed

 

DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng

The NFVF is offering internship opportunities with the aim of supporting and promoting the film industry within the country. Internship positions are available to graduates within the following areas:

  • Script Writing
  • Film and Television producing
  • Graphics Designing
  • Animation
  • Finance
  • Public Relations and Publicity
  • Events and Management
  • Marketing and Communications
  • Legal
  • Research/ Content Planning
  • Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Administration
  • Production Administrator
  • Information Technology
  • Training and Development

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African Citizen
  • Must have a valid South African Identity Number
  • Must have completed Matric (NSC)
  • Must have completed a Diploma or Degree qualification at a recognised and tertiary institution in South Africa
  • Must NOT have participated in a previous internship programme
  • Must NOT have been previously permanently employed
  • Previous or Vacation work is accepted but not a requirement
