ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE LEARNERSHIP:

The mission of the City of Johannesburg is to provide excellent service and ensure community participation in government by managing and developing the city effectively.
DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:
Locations: Johannesburg, Gauteng
Duration: 12 months
Stipend: R4 000 per month
The City of Johannesburg is offering a Skills Development programme as part of their Social Development department. This programme is a 12-month Extended Public Work Program (EPWP) contract and is available to unemployed members of the youth. The candidate will be responsible for providing support services for units within the department as well as provide assistance with hotspots, community outreach services, mapping, campaigns, minor-finance process duties, data-collection, administration, and expanded social package (ESP.)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must be a South African Citizen
- Must have completed Matric or an NQF-4
- Must have Community Work Certificate/ Social Auxiliary Work/ Certificate of Administration (advantageous but not essential)
- Must be computer literate with basic software knowledge
- Must be able to accurately and timeously collect and capture data
- Must be knowledgeable and passionate about working within communities, with displaced individuals, substance abuse clients, migrants, households, expand social package (ESP) OR Must demonstrate participation in door-to-door campaigns, field services, financial administration, or blitz operation
- Must be able to complete all general duties, such as carrying packages, stocks, and cleaning
- Must be able to work well in a team and independently
- Must be registered on ESP (Expanded Social Package)
