Da Gama Textiles is one of South Africa’s oldest and largest vertically integrated textile producers. Founded in 1948, the company has over 6 decades of experience in the weaving of cotton and the dying, printing and finishing of fabrics.

The company produces niche branded products, including the internationally recognised brand name Three Cats Original Shweshwe. The companies 3 core divisions are: Home Sewing, Home Furnishing and Workwear.

Location: Zwelitsha, King William's Town, Eastern Cape

Da Gama Textiles is offering a Learnership Programme to candidates with Matric and a keen interest on working within the textile industry.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

Must have completed Matric (Senior Certificate)
Must have passed English in Matric
Must have passed Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) in Matric
Must have passed Physical Science in Matric
Must be computer literate
Must have excellent communication skills
Must be willing to learn
Must not be colour blind
Must have good communication skills at all levels (written and verbal)
Must be willing to work shifts (not for the full duration of the programme)
Preference will be given to candidates who passed Matric with good grades
Candidates with disabilities are encouraged to apply
