DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: Sasolburg, Free State
Duration: 1 year
Safripol is offering a Fireman Learnership opportunity to candidates interested in pursuing a career within the Health and Safety field. The candidate will be placed within the Fire Services Business Unit, take on the position of Learner Fireman, and report to the SHERQ Manager. The programme will allow the candidate to engage in on-the-job training and will educate them about the various components of the chemical industry environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must have completed Matric, with Mathematics and Science as subjects
- Must have completed these courses:
- Fire Fighter 1 (NFPA 1001)
- Fire Fighter (NFPA 1001)
- Hazardous Materials for First Responders- Awareness Level (NFPA 372)
- Hazardous Materials for First Responders- Operational Level (NFPA 472)
- Basic Ambulance Assistant (Bonus)
- First Aid Level 3
- Must be computer literate with knowledge of MicroSoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Must be able to pass the fitness test
- Must be highly organized
- Must be able to work well within a team
- Must be willing to work shifts
- Must be safety conscious
- Must NOT be claustrophobic or afraid of heights
- Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment
