Gibela Rail Transport is majority owned by Alstom, a French multinational rolling stock manufacturer operating worldwide in rail transport markets.
Gibela was formed in 2013 as a black economic empowerment (BEE) company, the Gibela Rail Transport Consortium, which was awarded a R51-billion contract with the South African government to manufacture 600 trains for the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA).

Gibela Transport Rail is offering Internship Graduate Programmes opportunities to recently qualified graduates, in various fields. These programmes will allow for interns to gain valuable skills in the world of transport rail manufacturing, as well as training and development of technical and non-technical skills.
Candidates will be based at manufacturing sites in Nigel (Ekurhuleni) and Wolmerton (Pretoria North), where they will join a challenging work environment, while working in various teams within the environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old
- Logistics Methods Engineering Internship Graduate Programme: must have completed an Engineering Trade S4 qualification
- Work Package Controller Internship Graduate Programme: must have completed a Degree in Finance or Accounting
- Accounts Payables Internship Graduate Programme: must have completed a Degree in Finance or Accounting
- IT Support Internship Graduate Programme: must have completed a Bachelor's degree qualification in Computer Science or a related field
- Configuration and Change Management Internship Graduate Programme: must have completed a BTech Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Process & Manufacturing Engineering (PME) Internship: must have completed a Bachelors Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy Engineering or Industrial Engineering
- RAMS Engineer Internship: must have completed a Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Maintenance Engineer Internship: must have completed a Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Training Administrator/ Co-ordinator Internship: must have completed a National Diploma or Degree qualification in Human Resources or a related field
- Sourcing Methods and Tools Internship: must have completed a Degree qualification in Industrial Engineering
- Supplier Development Internship: must have completed a Degree qualification in Industrial Engineering
- Must have completed a relevant tertiary qualification
- Must have no previous work experience
- Must have strong communication skills
- Must be fluent in English
- Must be computer literate and able to work in MS Office
- Must be honest, respectful and show integrity
- Must be able to work well in a team
- Must be reliable and self-reliant
- Must be flexible and have a positive outlook
- Must be hardworking, driven and passionate
