ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE INTERNSHIP:
The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a statutory body established in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act No. 29 of 1996 and is a registered Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) for the mining and minerals sector in terms of the Skills Development Act No 97 of 1998 as amended.
The MQA facilitates skills development training in terms of the Skills Development Act 97 of 1998, under the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).
DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: anywhere in South Africa
Duration: 24 months
Stipend: R 8 713.50 per month
The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is offering a Learning Programmes Strategic Projects Internship opportunity, for candidates who require experiential learning to complete their qualification or graduates that have completed their qualification within the last 5 years.
Interns will be required to fulfil these duties:
- Assist with administrative tasks, in line with projects administered in the Strategic Project Unit
- Assist with filing and document control
- Assist with travel arrangement for the Learning Programmes Unit
- Register learning programmes agreements for all projects
- Provide administrative support to the Strategic Projects Unit when required
- Perform any other tasks delegated by the Learning Programmes Manager or Specialist
- Provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders, in line with the MQA’s customer service standards
- Liaise and maintain relationships with various MQA stakeholders
- Organise events including meetings and workshops for the Learning Programmes Unit
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be currently studying towards one of these qualifications and require experiential learning to complete your qualification OR must have completed one of these qualifications within the last 5 years: National Diploma, B Tech or degree in Human Resources Management/Development, Business Management, Business Administration, Public Administration/ Management, or Project Management
- Must be computer literate and able to work in MS Office packages
- Must have an understanding of skills developments legislation in respect of education and training
- Must have strong communication skills
- Must have good interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work well under pressure
- Must have a positive, proactive attitude
- Must be customer orientated
- Must pay close attention to detail
- Must be willing to enter into a learning agreement
- Must be willing to complete the 24 month programme
