DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng
Duration: 12 months
RCL FOOD is offering a Packaging Technologist Internship programme, at the companies Milling Division in Pretoria. Candidates who are interested in growing and pursuing a career in the packaging space, may apply.
The selected intern will assist the Assistant Packaging Innovations Manager, by providing practical hands on support, with regards to trials, analysis and data capturing for all projects, as well as an admin execution function.
The internship positions comes with the following duties and responsibilities:
- Packaging analysis and data capture - including dimensional/ functional testing, waste management and throughput tracker, checking of non-conforming packaging.
- Administrative duties – including master data and project workflow management, obtaining colour standards, specifications, and barcode verification reports, and carrying through to approval and capturing on the system.
- Organizational functions – including artwork process management and validation, packaging trial arrangements, capturing trial information, minute taking, report compiling and circulation plus arranging sample materials for trials and mock ups or samples as marketing require.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must have completed or be studying towards a Food Technology/ Biotech. Diploma or similar qualification
- May have completed a Packaging Diploma (IPSA) (advantageous but not mandatory)
- Must have a basic knowledge of: packaging analysis and packaging materials i.e. Food contact packaging
- Must have a basic knowledge of: Design, barcoding, colour management, plate making & print production
- Must have a basic knowledge of: Project management and processes
- Must have a basic knowledge of: Food labelling regulations
- Must have a basic knowledge of: HACCP standards
- Must have a basic knowledge of: ISO and BRC standards
- Must know how to design an experiment and write up a report
- Must be analytical and resilient
