DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Coronation is offering a Portfolio Analyst Internship programme to graduates with a Finance or Commerce degree. The selected candidate will be required to start as soon as possible, so must be available.

The position has a range of responsibilities across the investment and operational spheres of the business, with a focus on assisting Portfolio Managers in their execution of investment strategies.

The candidate will serve as a link between Portfolio Managers and dealers. Portfolio analysts are positioned on the trading desk to facilitate continuous interaction with dealers on order status and portfolio altering developments. The candidate will contribute to the investment process by enhancing the Portfolio Manager’s understanding of the impact of certain investment decisions, while also actively managing compliance and cash flows within a diverse range of investment mandates.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Must be a South African Citizen
Must have completed a degree qualification in Commerce of Finance
Must be computer literate
Must be fluent in MSOffice with advanced Excel
Must have knowledge of Portfolio Management Systems
May have knowledge of Reuters, Inet or Bloomberg (advantageous)
May have knowledge of VBA (advantageous)
Must be able to work in a fast paced and pressured environment
Must be energetic and passionate about financial markets
Must be pro-active and able to grasp concepts quickly
Must have a high level of integrity
Must be a team player – someone keen to get involved in a team beyond their job
Must be resilient and able to handle stress
Must be able to take initiative and multitask
Must have strong numerical ability
Must pay close attention to detail under immense pressure
