SABC is the hub of entertainment, News, and information to Millions of South Africans. They have a portfolio of properties across of 9 provinces to support broadcasting. The Real Estate and Logistics department is responsible for the management and maintenance of all SABC Facilities.
DETAILS ABOUT THE APPRENTICESHIP/ INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: Auckland Park, Johannesburg, Gauteng
Duration: 3 years
Number of positions available: 2
SABC is offering 2 Mechanical Fitter Apprenticeship/ Internship Programmes, to highly talented unemployed youth interested in becoming artisans. The Training Programme will allow candidates to gain theoretical and practical on-the-job training, as well as the opportunity to gain a Trade Test certificate.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must have completed an NTC3 or N3 in Mechanical/ Fitting Engineering
- Must have achieved a minimum of 50% for Mathematics
- Must have achieved a minimum of 50% for Physical Science
- Must have achieved a minimum of 40% for English
- Must be unemployed
- Must be computer literate and have knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- Must have strong communication skills – both verbal and written
- Must be self-disciplined and self- motivated
- Must be committed and driven
- Must be emotionally resilient
- Must be safety conscious
- Must be responsible
- Must be able to work well in a team
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Must be committed to completing the 2 year programme
- May have a valid Driver’s licence (advantageous but not essential)
