DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Mbazwana, KwaZulu-Natal
Duration: 1 year full-time

The KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission (KZNFC) is offering a Training Programme/ Learnership opportunity. The programme is open to candidates who wish to enter the film and television industry, with no previous competence or experience within the industry.

Learners will have the opportunity to experience the various career options in the industry – including technical, creative and production. Learners will also be able to focus on and gain entry-level competence in their chosen area of specialisation.
 

Learners will complete the Further Education and Training Certificate: Film and Television Production Operations NQF level 4 and Film and Television Production Learnership programme.

The aim of the programme is to enchance the economy, by providing opportunities for youth from disadvantaged communities, to partake in and complete training within the film industry. The KZNFC is committed to contributing to an enabling environment for job creation and transformation.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Must have completed Grade 11 or NQF level 3
  • Must reside within the Mbazwana area
  • Must be able to read and write
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must be from a previously disadvantaged background
  • Preference will be given to: females, youth and people with disabilities (PWD)

ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE LEARNERSHIP:

The KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission is a newly established entity in terms of the KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission Act, 2000. The KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission has been set up to promote the film industry in the province, and has as part of its mandate:
- To promote and market the province as a global destination for film production;
- To develop, promote and market, locally and internationally, the film industry in the province;
- To facilitate investment in the film industry in the province;
- To provide and encourage the provision of opportunities for persons, especially from disadvantaged communities, to enter and participate in the film industry in the province;
- To address historical imbalances in the infrastructure and in the distribution of skills and resources in the film industry in the province; and
- To contribute to an enabling environment for job creation in the film industry in the province.
