DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: KwaZulu-Natal
Duration: 12 months

Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa is offering a Warehouse Learnership opportunity to candidates with Matric. The learnership will allow for students to grasp the underlying principles of major areas relating to distribution within the Wholesale & Retail sector and to complete the National Certificate in Freight Handling NQF 3 (120 credits).

The qualification will equip learners with an excellent foundational knowledge of logistics and warehouse fundamentals, partnered with an understanding of maintaining and enhancing the level and quality of service expected by customers.
 

Learners will be required to perform the following tasks during the programmes:

  • Receiving stock into the wholesale or retail outlet
  • Maintenance of stock balances
  • Picking stock
  • Packaging of stock in suitable selected areas
  • Picking, packing and moving stock to minimize damage
  • Stock take procedures
  • Recording stock movement on the stock management system
  • Stock flow through the DC/Warehouse
  • Financial affect of stock on the business
  • Admin functions relating to stock receipt and delivery
  • Safe delivery of stock to customers
  • Reading, writing and verbal communication inside of the distribution environment
  • Rational and irrational numbers and number systems
  • Wholesale & retail business environment
  • Legal requirement, organization policies and procedures for transporting goods
  • Legislation in regard to Occupational Health and Safety and suitable safety procedures in the workplace
  • Maintaining Customer service and satisfaction levels
  • Maintaining Internal and external housekeeping standards
  • Taking action with regards to hazards and emergency situations

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African Citizen
  • Must be unemployed
  • Must be Employment Equity candidate
  • Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old
  • Must have completed Matric with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy as a subject
  • Advantageous: completed a Diploma in Logistics Management or Operations Management
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Must have little or no working experience
  • Must show great attention to detail
  • Must be able to interact and work well in a team
  • Must reside within the area
  • Must NOT have previously completed the same qualification/ learnership at another company or organisation
