DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: JTG District (John Taolo Gaetsewe), Northern Cape
Duration: 18 months
Anglo American Platinum is offering a Mining Learnership, to allow candidates the chance to learn all about surface mining and mobile equipment. The learnership programme will equip learners with theoretical and practical skill training in surface mining – it is an enrichment programme for the community on Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM).
Learners will receive assistance in discovering their capabilities and developing their skills to become Drilling or Blasting Assistants. The learnership programme will take place at the Sishen Mine and applicants must reside in the JTG District.
Learners will receive the following benefits:
- Monthly stipend/ allowance for the duration of programme
- 18 month’s skills programme, which includes experiential learning
- MQA Certificate after competency declaration to add to skills
- Personal Protective Equipment
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must have completed Matric / Grade 12 / Technical N3, with the following subjects: Mathematics Literacy or Mathematics
- Advantageous: completed Physical Science as a subject in Grade 12
- Must reside within the JTG District
- Must be physically fit
- Must be committed to completing the programme
- Must have an interest in the Mining sector
- Must have a valid South African Driver’s License
- Must pass the medical-job-fit assessments (RFA)
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid Sishen VTS / DOVER

- Preference will be given to candidates between the ages of 18 and 35 years old.
