DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Locations: Bonnievale, Western Cape
Duration: 18 months

Lactalis is offering a graduate internship opportunity for the role of Technical Graduate Trainee in its Operations Department. The programme will commence at Lactalis' Bonnievale Plant within the HO Human Capital Development Department. Here, candidates will be working on an operational dairy plant where they will gain practical work training experience and develop the necessary skills needed to excel theoretically, practically, and professionally.

Key performance areas of the programme:

Completing various projects set out by the Training Practitioner under the Development Plan
Communicating with suppliers regarding aspects of projects commissioned within the site
Creating and executing technical upgrades and process improvements
Providing assistance in the design of production processes to improve efficiency and decrease waste
Performing support functions and providing project managers with assistance in various projects
Improving existing key performance indicators
Designing, researching, building, and developing devices (technical/mechanical); this includes the tool on various machines
Ensuring existing mechanical systems are improved and creating new project concepts and prototypes
Assisting with the designing and testing of electronic and mechanical systems, and developing automated systems

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

Must have completed a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering
Must be between the ages of 21 and 25 years old
Must be fluent in English
Must be computer literate
Must have a valid driver's license
Must be willing to relocate to Bonnievale
Must be medically fit and healthy
Must be willing to work long/ extra hours (i.e. shifts, weekends, holidays, and/or overtime)
Must have excellent problem-solving capabilities
Must have excellent communication skills
Must be a critical thinker
