DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Sandton, Gauteng

Discovery is offering a Skills Programme Learnership opportunity to people with disabilities (PWD). Learners will be based in the Call Centre: Medical Aid client servicing, claims, new business and health benefits administration.

The programme is aimed to address the fundamental mathemetical literacy Unit standards at NQF level 4. This will ensure that the learner meets the entry criteria to the Long term Insurance Learnership. The programme consists of three (3) credit bearing unit standards and workplace readiness modules.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be between 18 and 30 years old
  • Must have completed Matric
  • Must have achieved at least 50%, D symbol, level 4 for English and a Second Language in Matric
  • Must have failed Matric Mathematics or not complete Matric Mathematics
  • Must have NOT completed a tertiary qualification
  • Must NOT be currently studying
  • Must NOT have any formal work experience
  • Must reside within travelling distance of Discovery office and training venue
  • Must be innovative/ a critical thinker and a problem solver
  • Must pay close attention to detail and maintain high levels of accuracy
  • Must have high standards for quality and quantity and works in a systematic, methodical and orderly manner
  • Must have good time management and planning skills
  • Must be able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team orientated environment
  • Must be service driven, with a sense of urgency and a team player
  • Must be able to adapt to changing circumstances and handles criticism well and learns from it
