DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

Duration: 12 months

The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) is offering a Systems and Coding Learnership opportunity to unemployed youth who are interested in gaining experience, that will lead to a career in the Computer Science & IT field.

The programme will include both formal training and extensive work experience. After completing the programme, learners will receive an NQF level 5 qualification.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

Must be a South African citizen
Must be between 18 and 35 years old
Must be unemployed
Must have completed Matric/ Grade 12 or an equivalent NQF level qualification
Must be computer literate
Must be interested in working within the Information Technology sector
No working experience is required

ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE LEARNERSHIP:

The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) is the country's national aviation authority. The SACAA is responsible for ensuring that aviation incidents and accidents are correctly governed as well as overseeing all civil aviation. The SACAA is a public entity (Schedule 3A) in accordance with the terms in the Public Finance Management Act ("PFMA") that was established in 1998. This Act ensured that a stand-alone authority would be in charge of regulating, promoting, as well as enforcing civil aviation security/ safety.

The SACAA is run by a strong Board of Directors. These directors were personally appointed by the Minister of Transportation and accurately represents business and management expertise as well as the aviation industry as a whole. The Board has the responsibility to ensure that the performance of the Authority is maintained by ensuring business objectives are achieved and statutory functions are met.
