DETAILS ABOUT THE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
Number of positions available: 3
Duration: 3 to 4 years
AB InBev is offering 3 Millwright apprenticeship opportunities at their Prospecton Brewery, to candidates who are keen to receive training to qualify as tradesman and gain knowledge and experience as an artisan in the chosen trade.
Key performance areas of the programme:
- Complete the 3 to 4 year apprentice programme as per company/ SETA requirements
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment
- Comply with all safety, health and environmental procedures and legislation
- Maintain safe and clean working environment
- Receive training and gain knowledge and experience
- Locating plant, equipment, spares and relevant documentation / systems
- Planning, budgeting and preparing for a job
- Evaluate and repair breakdowns and maintenance
- Continuously improve (optimise) plant, process equipment and systems
- Machine specific technical competence
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must have completed Matric/ Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science as subjects
- Must have completed a National Technical certificate (N4)
- Advantageous: higher qualification in the relevant engineering discipline (N5/N6)
- Must have an aptitude for Engineering
- Must be able to work effectively in teams (team player)
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be self-driven / self-motivated
- Must be action orientated
- Must be mentally alert
- Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Must have coaching ability
- Must have problem solving ability
- Must pay close attention to detail
- Must have conceptual skills
- Must have a desire to grow competence and capability
- Must be physically fit
- Must have good vision and must not be colour blind
- Must be able to adhere to flexible working arrangements (able to do shift work, overtime)
- Myst be willing to attend periods of training in Johannesburg
