Afrimat Limited is one of the top black empowered open pit mining companies in South Africa, providing construction materials and industrial minerals. The JSE-listed company has over 45 years' experience in the industry and supplies a wide variety of construction materials.

Afrimat’s group structure is made up of: Aggregates (based in Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Western Cape, Northern Cape and Mozambique); Concrete-based products (based in Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Western Cape, Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Mozambique); Industrial minerals (based in Gauteng and Western Cape); Contracting international (based in Southern Africa); and Commodities (based in Northern Cape).
 

DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Northern Cape
Duration: 2 year, fixed term contract

Afrimat Demaneng is inviting graduates to apply for the position of Human Resources Intern within the company, located near Kathu in the Northern Cape province. The Intern will assist with various tasks within the HR department.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must have completed a B.Honours degree qualification in Human Resources
  • Must have a valid drivers licence
  • Must be medically fit - in line with the Mine Health and Safety Act and Afrimat's standard for medical fitness
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must have experience working with MicroSoft Word. Excel and Outlook
  • Must have experience working within a team
  • Must have a strong academic record
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have strong administrative skills
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work both independently and within a team
  • Must be able to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced working environment
  • Must be deadline driven
  • Must be willing to take initiative where applicable
  • Must be willing to learn on the job
  • Must be willing to learn about the business
  • Must be good at problem solving
  • Must be confident and have a high level of drive
  • Must be committed to the job and to personal growth
