DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Richardsveld and Nama Khoi, Northern Cape

AMSOL is offering a learnership opportunity to candidates interested in pursuing a career within Marine Solutions. The candidate will be responsible for a number of duties and support local AMSOL operations.
 

Key performance areas of the programme:

  • Engaging in supervised training
  • Performing tasks onboard vessels (both along and at sea)
  • Completing statutory training as well as the On-Board Training Record Book (upon completion, you will then receive an entry-level seagoing qualification)
  • Following all safety protocols

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must have completed Matric/ Grade 12
  • Must reside within Ritchersveld or Nama Khoi Municipalities
  • Must be between the ages of 18 and 25 years old
  • Must comply with strict SHEQ standards and Drug & Alcohol policy
  • Must be able to follow instructions
  • Must be able to follow procedures
  • Must be able to work well in a team
  • Must be professional

  • Proof of residence (this can be in the form of a utility bill, letter from Ward Committee/ Councilor)
  • Updated Curriculum Vitae
  • Motivational letter stating why you would be a suitable candidate for the role and your preferred department of work (i.e. on Deck, Engine, Catering, etc.)
  • Copy of your Identity Document
  • Copy of your Matric certificate
