ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

AVBOB was established in 1918, in Bloemfontein and has since grown into Africa’s biggest Mutual Assurance Society. AVBOB is a one-stop funeral insurance and burial service company with over 5.5 million people insuring their lives at AVBOB.

AVBOB consists of three main divisions: Industries, Insurance, and Funeral Service and their mission is to be a mutual insurance society within the funeral industry. Their values are people, excellence, customer focus, teamwork, and integrity.
 

DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal
Duration: 12 months

Avbob is offering a Long Term Insurance Learnership opportunity, to unemployed candidates with Matric. The 12 month programme will take place in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal, but learners may also be required to travel to work across the country.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African Citizen
  • Must be between 18 and 35 years of age
  • Must have completed Matric
  • Must have passed English in Matric
  • Must have passed Mathematics, Mathematics Literacy or Accounting in Matric
  • Must have NOT completed any further qualifications after Matric
  • Must NOT be currently studying
  • Must have NOT taken part in any previous learnerships
  • Must be unemployed
  • Must be willing to work in any AVBOB office across the country (i.e. must be willing to travel to another province)
  • Must have reliable transport (i.e. not public transport)
  • Must have a smart phone or laptop (advantageous)
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must be computer literature (i.e. be able to use MS Office, E-mail and Internet) (advantageous)
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must show initiative
