ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

The Banking Sector Education and Training Authority (BANKSETA) assists in the transformation of the broader banking/microfinance sector and skills development. BANKSETA aims to alleviate unemployment by providing individuals with partnership and skills development opportunities. Owing to skills development being recognised as a major need in South Africa, BANKSETA puts their attention on youth/adult education, SME'S and continuous professional development and research.
 

DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: All Provinces in South Africa
Duration: 1 year
Monthly Allowance: R3 500

BANKSETA is offering a Learnership programme in the Banking and Alternative Banking sector, for Matriculants, known as the Letsema Learnership. The programme will last for 1 year and will expose the candidate to workplace experience. Upon successful completion of the programme, the candidate will be granted an NQF5 Certificate qualification in Banking Service Advice, relevant to the banking sector.

The programme will be hosted by registered employers, and will include workplace coaching, leaner support and training which is linked to a registered skills programme.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African Citizen
  • Must have completed Matric (NSC)
  • Must have achieved a minimum result of 50% for English AND a minimum result of 50% for Accounting in Matric
  • OR must have achieved a minimum result of 50% for Mathematics
  • OR must have achieved a minimum result of 60% for Mathematics Literacy
  • Must NOT have a criminal record
  • Must have a clear credit
  • As of 1 July 2021, must be under the age of 35
  • Must be unemployed
  • Must NOT be participating in any other learnership programme
  • Must not be partaking in studies from 1 July 2021- 30 June 2022
  • Must have an excellent command of the English language (written and oral)

Completed application forms must be returned to: letsema@lulaway.co.za
 

Attach the following documents to your application (whichever method you use to apply):

  • A certified copy of your Matric Certificate (OR Matric statement of results if not in receipt of your Matric certificate, with an affidavit with valid reason)
  • An updated Curriculum Vitae
  • A medical certificate stating your disability, if applicable
  • A certified copy of your valid South African Identity Document

Please note:

  • Individuals living with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply
  • BANKSETA will NOT request any fees from you during the application process
  • The candidate must be able to attend the full duration of the course
  • BANKSETA conducts its selection process in accordance with the Employment Equity Act
  • If you have not heard a response by 30 May 2021, consider your application unsuccessful
  • Learnership application forms will only be available during the recruitment window (i.e. around April each year)
  • Recruitment generally occurs 6 months before the programme starts
