ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE INTERNSHIP:

The Chemical Industries Education and Training Authority (CHIETA) was established as a statutory body under the Skills Development Act of 1998. The main role of the company is to facilitate skills development in the industry and ensure that skills are further enhanced and developed by the means of training initiatives within the manufacturing and chemical sectors.
 

DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Locations:
Midrand, Gauteng
Montague Gardens, Cape Town, Western Cape
Westville, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
New Brighton, Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape
Duration: 24 months, fixed term contract
Stipend: R7 000 per month
Number of positions available: 5

CHIETA is offering 5 Administration internship opportunities as part of Education and Training Quality Assurance (ETQA). During this programme, the candidates will provide admin support to the ETQA unit as well as other business units within the CHIETA. Candidates will report to the ETQA Manager during the programme and will be paid their monthly stipend on the 15th of each month.
 

Key performance areas of the programme:

  • Ensuring that all documents are received and filed correctly (this includes day-to-day items, correspondence, and audit files)
  • Ensuring that documents are organised in accordance with the departmental requirements
  • Ensuring the accuracy of electronic and manual file identification registers
  • Ensuring that requests for files from all departments are dealt with accurately
  • Ensuring that captured data is correct and corresponds with the relevant documentation
  • Ensuring that Moderator and Assessor data is captured on the CHIETA MIS system
  • Sending stakeholders acknowledgement letters after receiving documents from them
  • Attending to all queries from providers and stakeholders
  • Ensuring that trade certificates are packaged and distributed to learners and/or SDPs
  • Ensuring that you tend to any other relevant tasks (when required)
  • Ensuring that first level verification on Learner certificates are conducted before submission to the Certification Specialist for final verification

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must have completed qualification in one of these fields: Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources Development Practices, Project or Education
  • Must NOT have any prior work experience (preferable)
  • Must have computer skills and knowledge of MS Office
  • Must have excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Must have excellent problem-solving capabilities
  • Must be able to work with a diverse group of individuals
  • Must hold a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity
  • Must be detail orientated
  • Must be able to work well in a team
