DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng
Duration: 12 months
The CSIR is offering a Distributor Ledger Technologies (DLT) Internship opportunity to candidates interested in pursuing a career within the Digital Technology Industry. The programme will place the candidate within the fourth Industrial Revolution (EDT4IR) Research Centre within the Next Generation Enterprises and Institutions Cluster.
During the internship, the candidate will gain practical work experience by providing technical support and research to the development team. Activities the candidate will engage in are designing, developing, and implementing DLT systems architecture and solutions.
Key performance areas of the programme:
- Assisting in the development of new solutions in DLT
- Staying up-to-date on the latest technologies in the developing DLT world
- Actively contributing to science, engineering, and technology (SET) activity outputs (such as guidelines, reports, peer-reviewed publications, system requirements, technology packages, and software packages)
- Assisting in research work related to DLT
- Engaging in desktop and literature research
- Engaging in data collection and capturing
- Staying current in the field of DLT (e.g. new approaches, methods, tools, and/or technologies used)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must have completed a Bachelor’s Degree in any of these fields: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or any other related field
- Advantageous: Honour's or Master's Degree
- Advantageous: knowledge of DLT Software Development in DLT
- Must know the fundamentals of computer science and programming skills
- Must have excellent quantitative skills (i.e. mathematics, computer science, statistics)
- Must be able to work well in a team
- Must be able to work well independently
- Must have excellent problem-solving capabilities
- Must have excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Must have excellent presentation skills
