The Department of Trade Industry and Competition (DTIC) was formed as a result of a merger between the Department of Trade and Industry, and the Economic Development Department. DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng (Primary)
Duration: 12 months
Stipend: R6000 (starting rate)
The Department of Trade Industry and Competition is offering a 12-month internship opportunity to graduates that will commence on 1 July 2022 and end on 30 June 2024. The aim of this programme is to allow candidates to enhance their skills, knowledge, and experience- further aiding them in positioning themselves as active and hard-working participants within the South African career market.
This programme is ideal for individuals who are aspiring Public Servants with a vision of building an economy that is dynamic, inclusive of growth and development, inclusive of employment and equity, values intellectual and operational excellence, values quality relationships, and is globally competitive. The majority of the DTIC's internship opportunities will be based in Pretoria, Gauteng, with an exception of its regional offices.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must be a South African Citizen
- Must have completed a 3-year National Diploma/ Degree or equivalent NQF-6/7 qualification in any of the above-mentioned fields
- Must be unemployed
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old
- Must have knowledge and understanding of government systems and processes
- Must be professional
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work well under pressure
- Must be deadline and goal-driven
- Must be an analytical thinker
- Must have high attention to detail
- Must be ambitious
- Must show a willingness to learn
- Must have excellent past academic performance (advantageous)
