The Eastern Cape Province is the second largest province in South Africa. Stretching over 170,000 square kilometres, it consists of six district municipalities and two metropolitan municipalities. The province consists of a diversity of people, heritages and culture, and holds a strong heritage in Xhosa traditions.

The province of the Eastern Cape is offering a number of internship opportunities to unemployed youth. The purpose of the programmes is to equip candidates with the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience so that they may be equipped to compete both in the open market and within Public Service.
A stipend will be paid according to the candidate's qualification level.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
General requirements:
- Must be a South African Citizen
- Must have completed a 3 year Diploma or Degree qualification at a recognised tertiary institution
- Must be a resident of the Eastern Cape province
- Must be younger than 35 years old
- Must be unemployed
- Must NOT have already participated in a Government Internship Programme
- Must have excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Programme educational requirements:
- Supply Chain Management Internship – must have completed a National Diploma or Degree in one of these fields: Finance, Supply Chain Management, Public Management or Logistics
- Accounting and Reporting Internship – must have completed a National Diploma or Degree in one of these fields: Finance, Financial Accounting, Cost Management, Internal Audit, Taxation, Financial Management or Financial Information System
- Billing and Debt Management Internship – must have completed a National Diploma or Degree in one of these fields: Cost Management, Finance, Financial Information System, Financial Accounting, Financial Management or Taxation
- Asset Management Internship – must have completed a National Diploma or Degree in one of these fields: Internal Audit, Financial Information System, Taxation, Financial Accounting, Finance, Cost Management or Financial Management
- Payables and Expenditure Internship – must have completed a National Diploma or Degree in one of these fields: Finance, Internal Audit, Financial Accounting, Cost Management, Taxation, Financial Information System or Financial Management
- Compliance and Assurance Internship – must have completed a LLB or Degree in Law
- Fleet Development Internship – must have completed a National Diploma or Degree in one of these fields: Finance, Economics, Accounting, Transport Management, Business Economics, Public Management or Logistics
- Fleet Maintenance Internship – must have completed a National Diploma or Degree in one of these fields: Public Administration or Public Management
- SMME Internship – must have completed a National Diploma or Degree in one of these fields: Public Administration or Public Management
- eNatis Internship – must have completed a NQF6 or NQF7
- Information and Communication Technology Internship – must have completed a National Diploma or A+ or N+ in Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- Human Resources Management Internship – must have completed a National Diploma or Degree in one of these fields: Management of Training or Human Resource Management
- Facilities and Security Management Internship – must have completed a National Diploma or Degree in one of these fields: Facilities and Security Management OR must have completed a NQF-6 or NQF-7
- Loss Control Internship – must have completed a National Diploma or Degree in one of these fields: Policing, Law or Forensic Investigation
- Fleet Logistics Internship – must have completed a National Diploma or Degree in one of these fields: Transport Management, Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain or Public Administration
- Fleet Risk Internship – must have completed a National Diploma or Degree in one of these fields: Transport Management, Logistics, Business Management, Management, Public Management and Public Administration
- Internal Audit Internship – must have completed a National Diploma or Degree in Internal Audit
- Strategy and Risk Internship – must have completed a National Diploma or Degree in Public Management OR must have completed a National Diploma or Degree in one of these fields: Risk Management, Internal Audit or any Diploma or Degree in Commerce that majors in Risk Management or Auditing
- CRM Internship – must have completed a National Diploma or Degree in one of these fields: Public Management, Marketing, Business Management, Public Administration or Management

Attach the following documents to your application form/ online application:
- An updated Curriculum Vitae (3 pages or less) consisting of your name, contact numbers, and relationship references
- A certified copy of your South African Identity Document or Permanent Resident Permit
- A copy of your Matric Certificate
- A copy of your Drivers Licence ( if applicable)
- Certified copies of your academic qualifications and transcripts
- A proof of residence (no older than 3 months)
