ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE LEARNERSHIP:
Enviroserv is South Africa's biggest waste management company, established in 1979 and located in Gauteng. Enviroserv has many depots around the country and in other African locations, such as Uganda and Mozambique. Enviroserv offers affordable solutions to chemical and waste pollution problems which could, at times, become hazardous. Enviroserv ensures that this waste is handled, transported, and treated in the legal and correct way, ensuring peace of mind to communities.
Enviroserv also concentrates on the sustainability of waste management to meet societies ever-changing needs, habits and awareness of environmental preservation and human health. As such, Enviroserv ensures that they evolve to match these changes and ensure that they continuously deliver innovative waste solutions that are effective, responsible, and economically viable.
Enviroserv also implements learning and job opportunities at their companies to candidates who are interested in the company's vision and mission and ultimately, want to make a change in the world. Enviroserv aims to enhance the skill levels of members in various communities, and in 2015- 2016 the company provided learnerships to unemployed people living near their operational sites. From then, many individuals in South Africa and across the world sought out the learnership opportunities provided at this company. Through this, many candidates from previously disadvantaged groups were able to obtain an NQF-2 level qualification and make a change in their lives.
DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:
Locations: Gqeberha/ Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape
Duration: 12 months
Stipend: R4 000 per month
Enviroserv Waste Management is offering a limited learnership programme catered for unemployed youth. The programme is catered for individuals interested in pursuing a career in Business Administration Services.
The programme will run for 12 months and will consist of two components.
The first component is Theory, which consists of 3 months of classroom training and learning at Vulumzi High School. The second component is Practical, this consists of 9 months of on-the-job training both in and around institutions and schools of Motherwell.
The candidate will receive a monthly stipend that will be paid according to the sectoral determination; and upon successful completion of the programme, the candidate will obtain an NQF-3 in Business Administration Services
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 34 years old
- Must have completed Matric/ Grade 12
- Must have passed Mathematics and English as subjects in Matric
- Advantageous: completed additional subjects: Accounting, Business Studies, Economics
- Must be residing in any of the following wards: 16, 23, 30, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, or 60 (in Eastern Cape)
- Must be unemployed
- Advantageous: computer literate
- Must be motivated
- Must be an analytical thinker
- Must be goal orientated
- Members from designated groups, such as Africans, Coloureds, and Indians will be given preference
- Candidates living with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply

Applications must be submitted with the following documents, to your local Ward Councillor:
- A certified copy of your Identity Document
- A certified copy of your Matric certificate
- A certified copy of your proof of address (this you can obtain from your local Ward Councillor)
- A certified and completed application form to your Ward Councillor
