DETAILS ABOUT THE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: Port Shepstone, KwaZulu-Natal
Duration: 3 years
Esayidi TVET College, along with the NSF (National Skills Fund), is offering Apprenticeship opportunities, for skill training within the fields of Electrician and Plumbing.
The following apprenticeship positions are available:
Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship:
- Location: Enyenyezi Campus
- Number of positions available: 45
- After completion, learners will receive: Occupational Qualification: Electrician (NQF level 4)
Plumbing Learnership:
- Location: Nqamuza Campus
- Number of positions available: 30
- After completion, learners will receive: Occupational Qualification: Plumber. SAQA ID: 91782 (NQF level 4)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship:
- Must reside within the UGU district
- Must have completed Grade 9, with Mathematics as a subject
- Must be willing to complete the programme
- Must be willing to travel for learning and work experience
- Must be willing to complete an aptitude test and fitness test
- Must be able to work at heights
- Must NOT be registered for Report 191 or NCV programmes
- Advantageous: aptitude in the electrical sector
- Preference will be given to candidates with a qualification below NQF level 4
Plumbing Learnership:
- Must reside within the UGU district
- Must have completed Grade 9, with Mathematics as a subject
- Must be willing to complete the programme
- Must be willing to travel for learning and work experience
- Must be willing to complete an aptitude test and fitness test

Today, Esayidi TVET College has 6 main campuses and various Community Development Centers across the Southern KwaZulu-Natal Region.
Esayidi TVET College has been identified as central to meeting the challenges of the Government's human resources development objective, especially that of reducing unemployment through skills and human resource development.
