ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:
eThekwini Municipality is a Category-A municipality, located in KwaZulu-Natal. Ethekwini is the largest city within the province and is the 3rd largest city within South Africa with more than 3 000 000 inhabitants. The cosmopolitan city is home to Africa's best managed and busiest port and is also a major tourist hub with its alluring beaches, gorges and ravines, and warm subtropical weather.
DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: eThekwini, KwaZulu-Natal
Duration: 12 months
The eThekwini Municipality is offering a lernership opportunity to unemployed, local candidates interested in pursuing a career in Furniture making. This programme will run for a duration of 12 months and will consist of classroom-based training as well as practical components. During the programme the candidate will report to the Project Manager; and upon successful completion of the programme, the candidate will obtain an NQF-3 in Furniture Making- Wood.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must be a South African Citizen
- Must be a resident of eThekwini
- Must have completed Grade 11 with Mathematics/ Mathematics Literacy as subjects
- Must have completed an NQF-2 Furniture Qualification
- Must NOT have previously participated in any other learnership/ developmental programme
- Must be computer literate
- Must be unemployed
- Must have a passion and interest in making furniture
