DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Greater Taung, North West
Duration: 12 months

The Greater Taung Municipality is offering a Community Safety Learnership opportunity to the unemployed youth of South Africa. This programme aims to equip the candidates with the necessary skills and knowledge related to Road Traffic Management.

During the programme, candidates will be required to pass both practical and theoretical assessments set by RTMC and SASSETA policy guidelines. Successful candidates will then undergo field training which will determine their suitability to become an official traffic officers.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African Citizen
  • Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old
  • Must have completed Matric/ Grade 12/ National Certificate Vocational (NCV) L4 Certificate with Diploma qualification of between 50% and 59%
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
  • Must NOT have a criminal record
  • Must be medically fit and able to do strenuous exercise
  • Must be available for selections and an interview (before the programme)

  • An application letter
  • An up-to-date and recent Curriculum Vitae containing at least 3 contactable references
  • Original, certified copies of all qualifications
  • A certified copy of your Identity Document
  • A copy of your Driver's License
  • A SAPS clearance certificate
  • A medical report certificate
  • Proof of residence obtained from Traditional Authority or Municipality

Greater Taung Local Municipality forms part of the Dr. Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District Municipality in the North West Province. It consists of many rural settlements, contains 106 villages, and holds a rich history within the Taung Skull Heritage Route and sites.
This route consists of natural wonders such as Thomeng waterfall and Blue Pools. The Taung Dam proves to be the ideal picnic site for locals; it also hosts many fishing competitions and is one of the few dams within South Africa that has Yellowfish. Owing to its many historical sites and rich agriculture, the Greater Taung Municipality enriches South Africa's heritage and economy.
