DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng
HEINEKEN South Africa is offering a Safety Internship to graduates within the field. The intern will coordinate common health and safety matters, as well as communicate and assist with the implementation of Global Safety guidelines such as SHE rules, standard and procedures.
Interns will have the following responsibilities:
- Ensure you remain healthy and safe.
- Cooperate with your employer and fellow employees, to comply with Safety, Health Environmental (SHE) and Quality laws and regulations.
- Report all unsafe conditions and behaviours that may pose SHE, Quality and Food Safety risks.
- Carry out lawful orders and obey SHE, Quality and Food safety rules and procedures.
- Report incidents as soon as practicable, but not later than end of shift.
- Stop any task and activity that will breach HEINEKEN Life Saving Commitments.
- Stop any activity that may pose a SHE, Quality and Food Safety risk.
- Stop any activity that deviates from Heineken Standards, Recipes and Rules.
- Create awareness through Safety Alerts and Toolbox talks.
- Take minutes in health and safety meetings.
- Assist with Personal Protection Equipment management process.
- Collate information to be used in health and safety reports.
- Assist with risk assessments.
- Assist with coordination of emergency drills and emergency team’s activities.
- Participate in health and safety inspections and audits.
- Review contractor safety files.
- Review health and safety procedures.
- Coach employees and contractors on safety standards and procedures.
- Conduct frequent plant walkabouts and engage employees on safety issues.
- Update safety boards throughout the site.
- Assist with incident and accident investigations.
- Form part of Safety Operational risk reduction teams.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must have completed a Diploma or NQF Level 6 (not N 6) in Safety Management
- Must have none to 1 year of experience in a Safety role
- Must be computer literate
- Must have good Microsoft Office skills
- Must take initiative
- Must be willing to learn
- Must be diligent
- Must be a team player
