DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: Centurion, Gauteng
Duration: 6 months
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is offering a Partnership and Resource Development Internship opportunity.
IFRC is looking for graduates who are highly motivated self-starters, target driven, with the ability to develop innovative solutions. After completing the programme, interns will should have developed donor database consisting of corporate, multilateral, philanthropic funding opportunities.
The intern will be responsible for contributing towards supporting Southern Africa Partnership and Resource Development Strategy. They will be required to map organisation income generation trends and identify non-traditional funding opportunities. The intern must have strong proposal development and have an understanding on working with international funding organisation.
Key performance areas of the programme:
New Resource Development:
- Prospect new funding opportunities and analyse funding opportunities for various thematic areas
- Track upcoming funding opportunities and support with developing engagement plan for prospect funders
- Support with developing new and innovative fundraising campaigns
- Work closely with Communications and technical team to produce marketing material for external stakeholders
Proposal Development:
- Support with proposal development and ensure that all proposals are in line with donor requirements and language used is acceptable to donor priorities
- Work closely with technical team to develop proposals
Stakeholder Management:
- Support with developing donor engagement plan
- Work closely with PRD Coordinator to manage strategic partnerships
Database Development:
- Support in updating donor database
- Track donor engagement and ensure that donor engagements are tracked at all times
Administration:
- Support PRD department with pledge management administration
- Support with donor related events or activations
- Assist with meetings arrangement and any other activities assigned by the line manager
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must have completed an Advanced University Degree in either of these fields: Recourse Mobilization, Communication, Marketing, International relation or another relevant field
- Must have experience or knowledge of Proposal Development
- Must have excellent networking skills
- Must be able to forge good working relations with external partners
- Must be able to use Microsoft Excel
- Must be able to adapt and work in a high-performance environment
- Must have knowledge on identifying funding opportunities
- Must be fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Preferred: good command of another IFRC official language (French, Spanish or Arabic)
- Must have strong communication skills
- Must have strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Must have good judgement and decision making skills
- Must have national society and customer relations skills
- Must be creative and innovative
