DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: Gqeberha/ Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape
Stipend: R7 000 per month
InnoVenton is offering a Graduate Internship opportunity in partnership with the DSI-Mandela Nanomedicine Platform. During the programme, the candidate will receive coaching and mentorship, enhancing their knowledge and skills, and giving them a broad introduction to the world of pharmaceutical nanotechnology formulation.
The candidate will also receive the opportunity to work in industry/ SME projects whilst they are placed in the DSI-Mandela Medicine Platform at the Medicine School on the Missionvale Campus.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must be a South African Citizen
- Must have completed a 3-year Bachelor’s Degree or Honours Degree in either of these fields: Chemistry, Formulation Science, Pharmacology, Pharmacy, or Physics
- Must be an analytical thinker
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must have excellent computer skills
- Must have high attention to detail
- Must be able to work well in a team

ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE INTERNSHIP:
In 2005, the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) reviewed all operational entities of the former Port Elizabeth Technikon and the University of Port Elizabeth. Three units of the former university were later merged to form one Cohesive operating entity named InnoVenton, later formally registered as “InnoVenton: NMMU Institute for Chemical Technology.”
In 2006, InnoVenton received a “Technology Station” award from the Department of Science and Technology, resulting in the management committee incorporating the activities of the Technology station into the InnoVenton form.
Today, the InnoVenton: Institute for Chemical Technology is formally registered as a Research Institute of the Nelson Mandela University with its main focus being Product and Process Development. The institute successfully sustains itself by generating income from services to industry, technology transfer projects, and royalties.
