Position: Performance Analyst Intern
Job Type: Permanent

Coronation Fund Managers have an amazing opportunity for a recently qualified graduate, to kick-start their career in performance analysis at the company. Graduates who majored in subjects like mathematics, actuarial science, quantitative finance or statistics, and who have a quantitative background should apply.

Duties and Responsibilities of the programme:

  • Ad hoc performance enquiries
  • Performance procedure (daily and monthly)
  • Performance data sign off process
  • Performance cycle involvement
  • Maintaining performance databases and performance systems
  • Compiling and evaluating performance data for business pitches
  • Risk analysis and ex-post performance

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Education requirement: must have completed one of the following qualifications: Financial Mathematics or Statistical orientation, BBusSci/ BComm (Actuarial, Quantitative Management), BSc (Mathematics, Statistics)
  • Must understand operational work-flow, performance and attribution methodologies and portfolio risk statistics
  • Must have an excellent understanding of investment strategies, financial instruments, and markets
  • Must understand detailed investment data sets and fund accounting data
  • Must have an analytical mind
  • Must show great attention to detail
  • Must have good systems knowledge and skills
  • Must be a teamplayer
  • Must be willing to learn
  • Must be highly precise and accurate
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritise
  • Must be deadline driven
  • Must know how to use MS Excel
  • Statpro (Performance & Attribution, Interactive) knowledge will be an advantage
  • Morningstar Direct, INet knowledge will be an advantage
  • SQL knowledge knowledge will be an advantage
  • Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups
