DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Cape Town, Western Cape
Duration: 12 months
Salary: R180 000 to R200 000 per annum, CTC

Just Share is offering a Responsible Investment Internship opportunity to recent Graduates with a Finance background. This internship programme will commence on 1 April 2022 and aims to allow the candidate to use their skills and qualifications to aid in building a better society.

The intern will get the opportunity to experience the cutting edge of social justice-oriented shareholder activism. The candidate will also interact and work with civil society organisations that are making a positive change in South Africa, and with shareholder activism organisations around the globe.
 

Key performance areas/ primary responsibilities of the internship programme:

  • Performing research and analysis of the company reports, policy briefs, academic publications, financial data, etc
  • Tracking and assessing all local and global developments regarding responsible investment and shareholder activism (this includes environmental, social, and governance (ESG)-reporting mechanisms)
  • Assisting with investor and company engagement (i.e. attending Annual General Meetings and engaging in research for and preparing questions)
  • Assisting with the planning of Just Share events
  • Providing general support to the Just Share team such as transcription, note-taking, filing, printing, proof-reading and any other tasks

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African Citizen
  • Must have completed a Degree related to Finance
  • Must have a broad understanding of the complex South African socio-economic environment
  • Must have excellent research skills
  • Must have excellent data analysis skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Must have to be proficient in MS Office
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work well within a team
  • Must be able to meet all deadlines
  • Must be able to prioritise work
