ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE GRADUATE PROGRAMME:
KwaDukuza Local Municipality is one of four municipalities under iLembe District Municipality, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
The Municipality was established in December 2000 and is one of the four municipalities of the Ilembe District Municipality the others being, Mandeni, Maphumulo and Ndwedwe.
DETAILS ABOUT THE GRADUATE PROGRAMME:
Location: KwaDukuza, KwaZulu-Natal
Duration: 12 to 36 months
Number of positions available: 10
Stipend: R100 000 per annum
The KwaDukuza Municipality is offering graduate/ candidacy programmes to unemployed graduates, within these 3 business units: Economic Development and Planning; Economic Development and Planning; Civil Engineering and Human Settlements.
The stipend will be structured according to CETA candidacy policy in order to ensure that all costs related to professional registration are taken care of.
A candidacy is a programme for candidates who have satisfied or completed the educational requirements toward registration in a category and is receiving training and gaining experience through employment with the intention of attaining the competency required for professional registration in that category. A programme enables qualified people to obtain
professional registration with the respective statutory council.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must have completed one of the following qualifications:
- Urban and Regional Planning/ Town Planning (BSc/ BEng/ ND/ BTech)
- Architecture (BSc/ BEng/ ND/ BTech)
- Civil Engineering (BSc/ BEng/ ND/ Btech)
- Preference will be given to graduates who have completed an Advanced Diploma or B-Tech Degree, who are eligible to register with the relevant statutory professional bodies
- If there are no qualifying candidates from KwaDukuza Municipality, candidates from Ilembe
- Family of Municipalities will be selected
- Must NOT be a child or relative of a KwaDukuza Municipality employee or councillor
HOW TO APPLY FOR THE GRADUATE PROGRAMME POSITION:

KwaDukuza Municipilty, Youth Development Offi ce, 41-42 Goolam Suleman (Hullet) Street, KwaDukuza 4450.
(Applications must be submitted in a sealed envelope and labelled “Candidacy Programme”)

- Certified copy of your Identity Document
- Certified copy of your Matric certificate
- Certified copy of your tertiary qualification
- Proof of residence in KwaDukuza Municipality - issued and signed by Ward councilor
- Proof of residence if from ILembe Family of Municipalities – signed by relevant ward councilor
Please note:
- 50% of available opportunities will be allocated to female candidates.
- 2% of available opportunities will be allocated to candidates living with disabilities.
- Successful candidates must be available immediately to participate in the programme.
