DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMMES:

Saint-Gobain Gyproc in partnership with Youthbuild International is offering a one-year Partitioning Academy learnership on a full-time and temporary basis. The candidate will take on the role of an internal employee in this Ceiling and Partitioning Academy Learnership. Saint-Gobain aims to do this to decrease the unemployment rate amongst youth as well as address the skill shortage in South Africa.

On successful completion of the Learnership, the candidate will receive a National Certificate in Ceiling and Partitioning Installation.

Location: Gauteng
Duration: 12 months
Pay/ Stipend: market related
 

Key Aims of the Programme:

  • Using Saint-Gobain's products to install ceilings, and partitions
  • Using building standards, specifications and drawings relating to the installation of partitioning and ceiling in work
  • Installation of partitions, specialized ceilings, and more
  • Learning about the different types of celling standards
  • Applying quality procedures such as environmental, safety, and health with installations
  • To be able to run and begin your own installation/construction enterprise

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Education required: must have complete Grade 12 (NSC certificate) with English and Mathematics OR a minimum of 2 years experience in the construction industry
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a tertiary certificate or a minimum of 1 year experience in any area of Carpentry or Construction
  • Must be between 18 and 29 years old
  • Must be fluent in English (oral and written)
  • Must be able to do basic mathematics and measurement taking
