ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE LEARNERSHIP:

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) is South Africa's tax collecting authority, responsible for administering both the tax system and customs service of the country. SARS promotes compliance with tax and customs law and promotes trade, development, and economic growth.

SARS' main goals are:
To ensure an increase in customs
To practice compliance
To ensure citizens experience fairness when doing business with SARS
To ensure the increase of internal efficiencies and cost-effectiveness
To ensure the public’s trust and credibility in SARS is increased

ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE LEARNERSHIP:

Location: various locations across South Africa
Duration: 12 to 36 months

Learnerships are an opportunity for students to obtain a formal NQF qualification in their selected field of study. Students enter into a learnership contract and must comply with the Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) obligations. SARS learnerships are offered within the following fields:

  • Internal Auditing
  • Forensic Accounting
  • Security Studies
  • Human Resources

 

These learnership programmes are applicable to those who have completed Matric, unemployed graduates and FET students. Students are required to partake in a 12 - 36 month contract and will received a stipend each month. Once the learnership programme has been completed, students who satisfy SARS requirements can apply for a permanent position.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must have completed Matric
  • Must have obtained good results for English, Mathematics/ Accounting in Matric
  • OR
  • Must have completed studies at a Further Education and Training (FET) College/ Higher Learning Institution and received a qualification in the field you are seeking employment
