ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

Mossop Leather Manufacturing is one of the country's leaders in the supply of footwear and leather goods. Mossop has been supplying many leading footwear brands with leather since 1846 and exports its leather to countries throughout Europe and Asia. The company prides itself on its superior customer care with every member of its staff is fully committed to providing first-class leather. Mossop also employs 170 permanent employees and is a privately owned business with its largest shareholders being the Rahman and Beier families from India and South Africa.

DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Wellington/ Paarl, Western Cape
Duration: 8 months (approximately)
Stipend: R588 (per week)

Mossop leather is offering a leadership opportunity to candidates looking to pursue a career within the leather manufacturing industry. This Learnership in Leather Manufacturing 2022 programme will allow the candidate to obtain a National Certificate in Leather Manufacturing processes and will officially commence in February 2022.

The successful candidate will sign a contract with Mossop Leather and the FP&M Seta and will work 5 days a week for 42 hours a week. The programme will be divided into two components- 75% of the time will be dedicated to factory work and the remaining 25% will be dedicated to classroom work.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

Must be a South African citizen
Must have completed Matric/ Grade 12
Must have passed Matric with the following minimum results:
- Level 5 (50% to 59%) for Mathematics literacy and English Second Language
- OR
- Level 2 (30% to 39%) for Mathematics and English First Language
Must be willing to pass and undergo an aptitude test
Must be willing to undergo a medical screening and drug test
Must reside within Wellington/ Paarl
Must be physically fit, strong, and healthy
