DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Pretoria Groenkloof, Gauteng
Duration: 24 months
Number of positions available: 11
Stipend: R7 000 per month

The National Consumer Commission is offering Internship opportunities in various fields, to unemployed graduates living in Gauteng.
 

The following internship positions are available:

  • Investigations Internship (4 positions available): will involve the intern attending to consumer complaints and render investigation, assessment of products and inspection services to ensure effective enforcement of the Consumer Protection Act in accordance to the NCC priorities.
  • Risk Management Internship (1 position available): will involve the intern managing, monitoring and directing the development and implementation of internal audit and risk management strategies to the NCC.Monitoring compliance management framework.
  • Media Liaison Internship (1 position available): will involve the intern updating the Social Media Platform; creating engaging content for media releases, social media platforms and the newsletter, as well as updating the mailing list with media monitoring and analysis.
  • Finance Internship (1 position available): will involve the intern maintaining the Asset register, Process expenditure control services and payments, and Record Keeping.
  • ICT Internship (1 position available): will involve the intern coordinating, maintaining and administering ICT Systems for the NCC.
  • Legal Services Internship (1 position available): will involve the intern providing support and opinions on litigation and corporate legal services to the NCC and to conduct prosecutions on behalf of the NCC.
  • Consumer Education Internship (1 position available): will involve the intern managing, developing and monitoring the effective education services to consumers, small businesses and NGOs about the NCC and Consumer Protection Act.
  • Business Education Internship (1 position available): will involve the intern managing, developing and monitoring voluntary business education service to the NCC and to manage and coordinate the creation of awareness of and education on the conditions of the Act, including outreach programs/ projects/workshops.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must reside in Gauteng province
  • Must be a graduate
  • Must be unemployed
  • Must have NOT participated in any previous internship programmes
  • Investigations Internship must have completed a Bachelor of Laws qualification
  • Risk Management Internship must have completed a National Diploma or Degree in Internal Audit or Risk Management
  • Media Liaison Internship must have completed a National Diploma or Degree in Public Relations or Communications
  • Finance Internship must have completed a Degree in Accounting
  • ICT Internship must have completed a Diploma in IT
  • Legal Services Internship must have completed a Bachelor of Laws qualification
  • Consumer Education Internship must have completed a Diploma or Degree in Marketing or Communications
  • Business Education Internship must have completed a Diploma or Degree in Marketing or Communications
