DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng
Duration: 12 months
Number of positions available: 1
Salary: between R6 375 and R8 375 per month
NMISA is offering an Electronics internship opportunity, to graduates who would like to receive training in the field. The intern will support the team by assisting with performance of maintenance, repairs and fault finding on all electronic equipments in laboratories and provide support to the assistant electronic technician. The intern will assist with design circuits on appropriate software and operation on PCB machine, as well as assist technical support within the Applied Metrology Division.
Key performance areas of the programme:
- Providing assistance with Fault finding in electronic circuits
- Providing assistance with Repair of electronic circuits
- Providing assistance with system design and automation on projects
- Providing assistance with the design and documentation of electronic products
- Providing assistance with operation of the PCB machine in the workshop
- Providing assistance with workshop chores (e.g. stock taking, cleaning etc.)
- Providing assistance with maintenance and cleaning of workshop machines
- Providing assistance with purchasing and collecting
- Being part of the team
- Complying with the requirements of the NMISA TQMS to ensure process consistency and effectiveness
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must have completed a 3-year tertiary qualification in Electronics or an equivalent qualification/ field
- Advantageous: completed a Postgraduate qualification
- Must have knowledge/ experience of PCB layout using appropriate CAD
- Must have completed an appropriate computer-aided design qualification or education practical experience
- Must have knowledge of a wide range of materials and electronic components
- Must be up to date with leading edge electronic components and industrial equipment
- Must have knowledge of automation of systems using programming and electronic design
- Must be deadline driven
- Must be self-motivated and enthusiastic
- Must have good reasoning ability focused, with a focus on problem solving with independent, proactive action
- Must have good planning and organising skills with analytical approach to work tasks
- Must follow organisational and laboratory rules such as policies and procedures
- Must be honest and ethical when delivering assigned tasks within NMISA
- Must be able to function within a team to achieve a common goal
