ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE INTERNSHIP/ LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:
The North West Province prides itself on providing a tourism experience unlike any other. In the North West, many visitors can expect a destination away from the buzzing city life and an escape into the true heart of Africa with game parks, viewings of the big-5 and water features. As such, the North West Province has established a tourism board. The North West Tourism Board aims to continuously improve the quality of life within the province by ensuring that plants, animals, and the environment are continuously preserved. The board aims to achieve this goal by staying committed to its conservation plans, ensuring that the use of land is for the benefit of all people and wildlife that inhabit it, that human resources are developed and utilised, and facilitating the development of wildlife-related industries for socio-economic development.
DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP/ LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: North West Province
Duration: 12 months
Pay/Stipend: R5 000 (internship), and R3 500 (learnership)
Number of positions available: 35
The North West Board is offering a 2021/ 2022 internship and learnership graduate opportunity to unemployed South Africans. This programme aims to equip candidates with the necessary practical skills and knowledge needed to succeed within the workplace. North West Tourism Board will also provide the candidates with continuous support and training through their learnership and internship programmes.
The programmes offered are as follows:
Internship:
- Qualification required: Tourism Management (Diploma or Degree)
- Number of positions available: 10
Learnership (Employed Level 4):
- Qualification: Professional Cookery (Certificate)
- Number of positions available: 14
Learnership (Unemployed- Level 4):
- Qualification: Professional Cookery (Certificate)
- Number of positions available: 11
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must be a South African Citizen
- Must be unemployed
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old
- Must have completed one of the qualifications above
- Must have a passion for the tourism and hospitality industry
