DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: Thabazimbi, Limpopo
Northam Zondereinde is offering 2 learnership opportunities: a Rock Breaker Learnership for learners to qualify as Miners, and an Artisan Learnership opportunity for learners to qualify as Artisans.
Artisan Learnership candidates will sign the MQA Learnership agreement equivalent to the duration of the programme and credits qualification. Artisan Learnerships are available in the following fields: Boilermaking, Electrical, Fitting, Instrumentation, Rigger.
Rock Breaker Learnership candidates will sign the MQA Learnership agreement in Mining Operations NQF level 2 and Rockbreaking NQF level 3, as well as be prepared for the DMRE Blasting Certificate.
Learners will be given a Fixed-Term Employment contract as well as a stipend/ allowance. This programme was made possible in line with Northam Zondereinde's Social and Labour Plan (SLP).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
Artisan Learnership
- Must have completed an N2 or NCV level 3 certificate or equivalent, in one of these fields: Boilermaking, Electrical, Fitting, Instrumentation, Rigger
- Must be medically fit
Rock Breaker Learnership
- Must have completed Matric
- Must have passed English and Mathematics (NOT Mathematics Literacy) in Matric
- Must be medically fit

Northam Zondereinde is a leading Platinum Group Metal (PGM) Mine located in the Limpopo Province, 40km from Thabazimbi on the outskirts of Pilanesburg and Waterberg Reserve.
